Not much to tell this month. More skyrim playing, as well as a lot of Civilization 5 + Enterprise combo pack.

And then came the steam holiday specials with tempting offers every day. So a lot of gaming ;)

The latest star trek series (not counting movies) takes place in the past, before the federation. It's always hard to do prequels, and very much so in this case, since the first star trek is from like 1970 but takes place after this one. So obviously this one is going to look better and have cooler stuff, even though its before the other one.

Well, it's not a big problem for me anyhow. The story is mostly entertaining, the first and second seasons starts out with mostly episodic content with a few hints about a "temporal cold war" between various factions that have access to time travel.

Season three is a bit episodic, but mostly focusing on a single storyline and a definite goal in mind (not just exploring strange new worlds). In season four the change the format again to a "mini-arc" variation, with 2-3 episodes for each arc. It works really well and the stories are interesting. Maybe the best season. Unfortunately the show got canceled after that one though :(

Wow, this is close, my clock is now 23:45 on the last november day, just in time for this months post. Didn't have to cheat this time!

So, big change on the frontpage. Now each blog post is in its own frame which makes it much easier to see where one post ends and another begins. Also added support for posting opinions to the front page. Not all opinions will be on the frontpage, only the ones that has a bit of writing in them will be published, to show them off a bit more.

I'm not used to writing reviews yet, last time I did something like that was back in college, so bear with me if they suck in the beginning. Hopefully it will get better!

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Rated 9.5/10

Wow, just wow! This is my first elder scrolls game, and it's amazing! Gorgeous landscapes and excellent effects. And there's so much to do! Seems like every NPC has a quest or two.

There's a main storyline, some big sidequest arcs and lots of smaller quests and dungeons. Haven't finished it yet, but I've already played over 50 hours enjoying every minute of it.

What keeps it from getting a perfect score is the horrible 'console' interface. It's hard to see what you have equipped and it's hard to equip the right spells/abilities you want. There are some quick buttons, but you can never know what hand will be equipped with what when you use them. Still a very good game, and hopefully someone will fix up a nice inventory mod soon.

Well I'm having some troubles producing a new wallpaper... Somehow it just doesn't feel right, it looks too photoshop-noobish . So I'll just have to postpone it again.

But at least I have something new! Instead of just text links to wikipedia for all "watched", I now have a small image (similar to the sidebar) and a rating for each entry. They are also linked to the actual opinion on the opinion page. Not everything is updated yet though. Unrated stuff will still just show a name and the old wiki link. Easier to see and adds a little more color to the front page, especially to those posts with no images, like this one ;)

I'm going to tweak the front page a bit more, then the next part to get an overhaul is the long forgotten 'projects'.

Action-packed fantasy about a mercenary company. This is the first book in the first trilogy involving the black company, and in this book, they are actually serving evil. Well, it's a war, and it seems both sides are more or less evil. But they are serving some reanimated evil guys with charming names as Soulcatcher, Bonegnasher and Moonbiter. Not exactly the typical good guys - bad guys setting.

It's a good story, maybe a bit too fast sometimes, a lot of skipping less important parts, it's more of a fight here, a fight there. But the story is suppose to be a chronicle of some sort, so I guess only the important parts are recorded.

I doubt anyone will call me out on it, but I'm going to cheat a little. I forgot to post something this month, this post is actually written in october and I ninjaedited the date ;).

Finally finished Code Geass second season. Left it in episode 17 two years ago. I liked it, good ending etc, but the part with the emperor and his machine and killing gods and all was a bit stupid/irrelevant or whatever, just felt misplaced.

Also been reading some new and old books. New books being the 5 parts of Elizabeth Moon's "Vatta's War", and old being Paksenarrion by the same author. Good stuff. Read more about it in opinions!

I've just updated the opinion system a lot! First of all: The poll is removed from the frontpage and replaced with a new box called 'Latest Opinions'. It displays the five most recent opinions added, and a link to each one.

That's right, I know have a way to show each individual opinion, without the use of javascript. As just shown in the new box, also makes it possible to link to a specific one. I've also added a way to browse the opinions without using javascript. Maybe not as nice looking as the javascript way but it works. Possibly also lets search engines index the content (not sure how good they are at javascript).

Last and not least, I've also added support for longer comments in each opinion, as demonstrated by my opinion on Yui Makinos latest album, Holography.
